Company Secretarial Department – Part-Qualified Senior

The Department:

The Company Secretarial Department is a very busy area of the firm which deals with a large number of clients.

The work of the department covers a wide spectrum of work from routine confirmation statements and accounts approval minutes to share buybacks, capital reductions and restructuring. The department works closely with other departments within the firm providing company law and secretarial advice on a wide variety of matters

The Role:

We are looking for a part-qualified (Chartered Governance Institute) company secretary or graduate with strong academics (at least 120 UCAS points) with a keen interest in the company secretarial field to join our team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The role is varied in nature and the responsibilities can include the following:

  • Assisting other members of the department with their portfolios
  • Using Diligent Entities company secretarial software to maintain and update company statutory records and e-file documents to Companies House.
  • Company formations with related Anti-Money Laundering requirements.
  • Preparing minutes, forms and other documentation relating to statutory matters.
  • Replying to internal enquiries for company information and searches
  • Other ad hoc duties in line with the role

The Candidate:

We require a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills:

  • Enthusiasm and an interest in company secretarial activities
  • The ability to work both individually and in a team
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to work to strict deadlines and under time pressure where necessary
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook

The successful candidate will ideally have prior experience within a company secretarial department, although a relevant degree or an interest and background within the legal sector would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be liaising with both clients and managers/partners of HW Fisher and therefore will need to be personable, approachable, and have the ability to deal with a wide range of stakeholders.

Experience of Diligent Entities, our company secretarial software, is not a necessity as training will be provided.

We will provide study support for the right candidate to complete the Chartered Governance Institute qualification after successfully passing a probationary period.
