Audit Supervisor – Not-For-Profit Sector

The Department:

The Not-For-Profit (NFP) Department is a sub-division of the Firm’s Audit Department, which acts as auditors for organisations of every type and size in various branches of commerce and industry. The Not-For-Profit team looks after clients including charities, trade unions, schools, trade associations and professional societies.

The Role:

We are looking for a newly qualified ACA (or equivalent) to join our NFP audit team, which is part of our wider audit group, to lead a range of NFP audits.

The ideal candidate will be a good team player, displaying excellent audit quality and possessing good organisational, planning, and delegation skills as well as being passionate about the sector.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Reporting to an audit manager and being responsible for the planning and execution of audits in accordance with International Auditing Standards
  • Working within budget and bringing the audits to completion
  • Ensuring excellent client relationships
  • Working with the audit team, supervising the trainees, reviewing their work, assisting with their development and helping with their performance evaluations

We are very active in the NFP world and there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved with marketing events, tenders for new work and writing articles.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • Strong audit experience with a range of clients
  • Excellent technical ability
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills, including leading jobs on-site
  • A proven ability to prioritise workload
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • An interest in, and knowledge of, the NFP sector
  • Knowledge of the various reporting requirements within the sector e.g. Charities SORP together with audit issues or a willingness to learn

Additionally, it would be desirable to possess knowledge and experience in software packages including PROaudit, AP, Alphatax, Excel, Word, and Outlook, although training will be provided on these.
