Founded in 1933, the practice comprises 27 partners and approximately 280 staff supplying a range of services spanning audit, corporate taxation, private client services, VAT and forensic accounting, together with a range of sector groups offering specialist industry knowledge.
The Trust team is a small yet busy department of the firm, currently comprising of two managers, a Supervisor, and a Trainee, who report into one of our Private Client Tax partners.
The department deals with a variety of trust work including Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax. They also provide a comprehensive bookkeeping and record keeping service for clients and provide a full review of the tax status of trusts and estates.
We are looking for a trainee within our Trust Department to assist our managers with their portfolios, as well as preparing trust accounts (for example, Discretionary Trusts, Life Interest Trusts and Charitable Trusts) and tax returns for their review. The successful candidate would be expected to liaise with HMRC and clients, as well as provide a variety of departmental support.
This would be a 3 year apprenticeship training contract to study for both the ATT and CTA qualifications.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate (with at least a 2:2 degree and a minimum of 280 UCAS points) or school leaver with excellent A-levels.

In return you will be offered a three-year apprenticeship training contract to complete your ATT and CTA qualifications.
You will be formally trained by Lexis Nexis (our training providers). For the ATT qualification you will undergo 3 paper based exams and 2 computer based assessments. You will sit these exams during your first 2 years with us; the paper-based exams take place in November and May each year.
The CTA examinations would then follow.
As part of the training process you will also receive on-the-job training in-house to enable you to put the theory into practice.
