Accounts Senior – Media & Entertainment

Founded in 1933, the practice comprises 32 partners and approximately 280 staff supplying a range of services spanning audit, corporate taxation, private client services, VAT and forensic accounting, together with a range of sector groups offering specialist industry knowledge.

The Role:

We are looking for a part-qualified accountant to join our growing Media and Entertainments division. Working within our Private Client team, the successful candidate should ideally be AAT qualified and be part-way through or about to start the ACCA qualification.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The duties of the role are varied and will include the following:

  • Preparing limited company accounts
  • Preparing sole trader, partnership and rental accounts
  • Preparing VAT returns
  • Communicating and corresponding with clients
  • Preparation of P11D’s
  • Assisting with company secretarial matters
  • Other ad hoc duties in line with the role

We have a wide variety of clients within the Media and Entertainments sector, including but not limited to sportspeople, journalists, broadcasters and actors, and so the successful candidate should expect to be working with a mixed client base.

The Candidate:

We require a part-qualified ACCA accountant, or a candidate who is starting the ACCA, with around 3-4 years’ experience within a practice environment. The successful candidate will have prior experience within a firm that specialises in clients from the media sector. We also require the following qualities and skills:

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • The ability to work independently and be able to take responsibility for own work
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work calmly under pressure and be able to prioritise own time
  • A strong knowledge of limited company accounts and the issues affecting small limited companies

As well as the above we also expect the suitable candidate to have a good understanding of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word packages. It would be desirable for the candidate to have knowledge/experience of AP accounting software as well as ProAudit, although training will be provided where necessary. It would also be desirable for the successful candidate to have knowledge and experience in packages including QBO and Xero.

In return, we would support any remaining ACCA exams after successful completion of a probationary period.
