Senior Manager - Audit

I joined HW Fisher in September 2006 as an ACA graduate trainee.

I am responsible for a portfolio of clients, assisting primarily with the statutory accounts and tax return reporting, as well as providing general advice as required. I work closely with the Partners in the Audit Department to ensure our work is completed efficiently and to the highest standard.

My client base covers a wide range of services and sectors, such as a tailor on Savile Row, companies that run petrol stations, companies that provide financial intermediation services and several accounts preparation assignments. Several of the audits in my portfolio are for UK subsidiaries of US parent companies, with the accounting function in the US. As such, detailed knowledge of FRS 102 disclosures and UK accounting standards is required in order to explain differences to US GAAP.

My career highlight to date involved being the key contact for the sale of one of our clients companies. This involved several weeks of liaising with lawyers, management and accountants on both sides of the transaction leading to the day of completion when I was the sole representative for HW Fisher at the final meetings. Even though this led to a 35-hour working day with no sleep, it was extremely rewarding. We have retained the client that we acted for, which I feel in part was due to the hard work and dedication that was shown during the sale.

I have been a mentor to ACA and AAT trainees since 2013 and consider training staff and helping their development as a key part of my role at the firm.
