I have been involved in the owner-managed business sector for over 10 years. I offer advice on accounts preparation and record-keeping, income tax, corporation tax, VAT, capital gains tax (CGT) and inheritance tax (IHT). I aim to make a significant contribution to my clients’ affairs and provide assistance in any way I can.
Being part of the Authors and Journalist’s team has enabled me to work with many clients in the creative sector, including broadcasters, actors and actresses, musicians, opera singers, classical composers and more, recently, very well-known vloggers.
Working in this team has also enabled me to gain a lot of experience dealing with HMRC, having worked on a number of HMRC enquiries and disclosures over the years. In particular the recent targeted enquires into Barristers tax affairs by HMRC.
Dealing with so many authors, I am well-versed in the tax and accounting quirks of this sector, from the tax implications of assigning a copyright into a company to authors averaging adjustments for freelance authors. I have given a number of tax-focused presentations and featured on a number of panels.
Recently I have been heavily involved with a number of the UK’s top social media stars which has been extremely rewarding and exciting to learn about this relatively new sector.
