28th March 2020Covid-19 guidance webinar series – advice for businesses, the self-employed and charities

Over the past few weeks, the UK Government has announced a host of packages to support individuals and businesses through the impacts felt by the coronavirus outbreak. We recently hosted a series of free webinars for SMEs, the self-employed and charities, advising on what the Government is offering and how clients can access it if eligible.

If you attended, we hope the webinars helped you to understand the Government’s Covid-19 guidance and gave you a chance to ask your questions.

As the webinars were held under Chatham House rules, we cannot share the full recordings. However, we have produced a copy of the Charities recording without the questions which is accessible here.

The Government has issued a lot of Covid-19 guidance for SME businesses over the past week. If you are a business owner, we hope the webinar helped you to understand the Government’s Covid-19 guidance and gave you a chance to ask your questions. We received many questions around PAYE deferrals, specifics concerning furloughed staff, how to prove coronavirus impact to your bank, and more.

If you run a small business and are looking to understand what applies to you including how you can access the support available, visit our dedicated guidance article here or contact Simon Michaels for support.

The Government has only recently issued its help package for the self-employed during the impact of Covid-19. In our webinar for self-employed individuals, we received multiple questions covering options available for those with mixed earnings, the impact of self-employment starting dates on eligibility, how to prove Coronavirus impact, and more.

If you are self-employed and need help understanding what applies to you and your business including how you can access the support available, visit our dedicated guidance article here, read our FAQs for the self-employed, or contact Jamie Morrison for support.

In the current circumstances we know a lot of charities are having to change the way they operate to ensure fundraising and funding can continue through the impact of Covid-19.

Our webinar for charity workers aimed to help you clarify the best action to take for your organisation during this period of uncertainty. The questions we received covered furloughing employees and the impact on voluntary work, business rates relief, and more.

We have produced a video recording of the session covering the guidance shared, which is available to watch here.

If you weren’t able to attend and did not have the chance to ask your questions, please visit our specific guidance for charities here , read our FAQs for charities.
