School leavers

You’ve got the talent. We’ve got the knowledge. Let’s get together.

We recognise that university isn’t for everyone and want to make sure we don’t miss out on talented individuals who’ve chosen other avenues to get into accountancy. If you’re bright, ambitious and thirsty to learn, we can give your career a head start.

Joining the firm straight from school gives you the opportunity to earn while you learn. You’ll be fully supported with training throughout your development and have the opportunity to work with our experienced partners whilst studying for the AAT qualification.

The firm specialises in exciting sectors, including authors and journalists, financial services, not-for-profit, property, restaurants, sports, entertainment and technology. You’ll get the chance to work across a wide variety of clients, building a wealth of experience that will help you quickly progress.

If you want a career where you’ll never be treated as just a number, let’s talk!

This is a two year training programme, and we will offer you full training and support as well as the opportunity to assist with work on a range of clients. We offer positions within our audit, Not-for-Profit, and Authors and Journalists divisions, and tend to have two intakes a year: February and August.

Following a successful two years with us, you may then have the opportunity to study for your ACA or ACCA qualification in order to become a Chartered or Certified Accountant.

If you would like to apply for this, please send your CV through to Michael Fraser at: mfraser@hwfisher.co.uk

Placements

HW Fisher offers placements to those requiring a sandwich year as part of their degree.

Our Year Placement students start with us in the summer, and initially spend around 6 months working with our Private Client team, assisting the managers with tax returns and working with an extremely diverse range of clients. For the second six months you will be part of our audit and accounts team, assisting with the preparation of accounts and having the opportunity to assist with audits as part of a larger team.

You will receive regular progress reviews throughout your placement and excellent support in enhancing your skill set ready for your final year of university. We are pleased to say that many of our Year Placement students have joined us as a dedicated trainee following the completion of their degree.
